In-Store General Questions

In-store offers enable Cashback to be earned when using a linked Visa credit or debit card in-store at participating retailers. Simply and securely link your existing Visa card to your CASHREWARDS account.

CASHREWARDS in-store Cashback is available to all members who link their valid Visa credit or debit card to their CASHREWARDS account. First, link one or more eligible Visa card to your CASHREWARDS profile and then activate available in-store offers to your card(s). When you shop in-store at participating retailers and pay with your eligible linked card, you will automatically earn Cashback on qualifying purchases, subject to the terms of the offer.

No. In-store Cashback using your linked Visa card is available for in-store purchases only. Cashback is also able to be earned at many stores online, directly through CASHREWARDS. In this instance, simply click the Shop Now button on CASHREWARDS and shop online as you normally would.

No. CASHREWARDS In-store Cashback is only valid for purchases made in-person at participating physical stores. Orders placed via phone, whether to a merchants call centre or to a specific store location, are not eligible for in-store Cashback unless otherwise stated.

In-store Cashback is currently only available for in-store purchases at participating retailer locations within Australia.

Right now, In-store offers only work using valid Visa credit or debit cards. MasterCard and American Express are not eligible at this time.

Your Visa card must be an Australian issued card. This includes (but is not limited to) Visa Credit cards, Visa Debit cards and Visa Pre-paid cards.

Visa-branded gift cards or cards that have expired, have been cancelled or are otherwise invalid, are not eligible.

A Pre-paid Visa card and a Visa-branded gift card may sound similar, however there are some key differences. A Pre-paid Visa gift card is limited to a one-time use, where as a pre-paid card can be re-loaded.

Australian issued Visa Pre-paid cards are eligible for in-store Cashback, Visa-branded gift cards are not.

If an eligible Visa card linked to your CASHREWARDS account expires, is cancelled, suspended or is otherwise not useable, it will not be eligible to earn Cashback.

It is your sole responsibility to update your details to continue earning in-store Cashback with CASHREWARDS. We will not retrospectively attribute in-store Cashback to your account for payments made other than with an eligible Visa card valid at the time of the purchase.

To earn in-store Cashback on purchases made with participating retailers, you must:

  1. be a CASHREWARDS member,
  2. link at least one valid Visa card to your CASHREWARDS account,
  3. ensure the In-store offer is activated on your card prior to the transaction being made,
  4. use your linked Visa card to pay for your purchase in-store at the participating retailer; and
  5. select Credit or the payWave option to complete your transaction. For the avoidance of doubt, you will not receive Cashback if you select cheque or savings or use eftpos at the point of sale.

Absolutely not. CASHREWARDS in-store Cashback is offered to all CASHREWARDS members at no cost.

No. CASHREWARDS does not require that you upload a receipt to earn Cashback - simply shop with your linked card at participating retailers where you have activated an offer. We do recommend, however, that you retain your receipt in the rare event that you do not receive your Cashback as expected. Your receipt is a valuable tool to our CASHREWARDS Customer Care team to help them research a missing transaction.

You may link up to a maximum of five (5) valid credit or debit cards to your CASHREWARDS account to earn in-store Cashback.

When linking your credit or debit card to CASHREWARDS, your card information is never stored by CASHREWARDS. All linked card information is held securely by Visa.

Each retailers in-store page on CASHREWARDS clearly displays an Estimated Cashback Approval timeframe. If an eligible transaction is refunded or reversed within the Estimated Cashback Approval timeframe, you will not receive Cashback for that transaction. For any partial refunds or reversals of an eligible transaction made within the Estimated Cashback Approval timeframe, you will only receive Cashback for the portion of the transaction not reversed or refunded.

During the Estimated Cashback Approval timeframe, your Cashback will display as Pending in your CASHREWARDS My Account page and will not be available for withdrawal to your nominated bank or Paypal account at this time. Your Cashback will become Approved and available for withdrawal after the Estimated Cashback Approval timeframe, and only when your purchase is confirmed to be eligible for Cashback.

CASHREWARDS reserves the right to remove approved Cashback from a member account at any time, upon notification from a retailer that the item purchased has been returned.

In-store Activating Offers

Once you've linked a valid Visa card to your account, search for your favourite stores on CASHREWARDS to see whether they have available in-store offers. Ensure you click on 'Activate Offer' to add the offer to all cards you have enrolled for CASHREWARDS in-store Cashback. Now you're ready to start earning Cashback in-store with your linked cards.

Available in-store offers vary from retailer to retailer. Some retailer offers are restricted to a certain number of redemptions per member and other offers do not have a redemption limit.

Read the Special Terms located on the retailers in-store page for all terms pertaining to the offer.

Yes. Offer expiration dates vary per retailer, so please check the Special Terms on the in-store page to determine the rules for a specific offer. If the offer is no longer active on your card, you will not receive Cashback for your purchase. As a best practice we recommend that you check that your offer is still activated before your shopping trip.

Yes. An offer can be activated to multiple cards up to the limit of five cards per member.

However if there is a limit to the number of times an offer can be redeemed per member then Cashback will only apply up to the maximum number of offer redemptions as per the individual offer terms.

Unfortunately, no. You must activate an in-store offer to your valid Visa credit or debit card before you make a purchase in order to earn Cashback.

In-store Redeeming Offers

After linking your valid Visa credit or debit card/s, earning in-store Cashback is easy. Activate a retailer offer to your linked Visa card, then simply use that card to make a purchase that meets the terms and conditions of the offer.

No. That's the best part! With CASHREWARDS in-store Cashback, there are no coupons to clip, no vouchers to print, and nothing extra to present to the store at the time of purchase. Just remember to use your credit or debit card linked to your CASHREWARDS account.

Most in-store purchases at participating merchants are eligible for in-store Cashback. However, some stores may exclude certain products or categories from eligibility. For example, some merchants may not reward in-store Cashback for gift card purchases or for transactions within certain departments of the store or particular products. Be sure to review the in-store offer details for each of the offers you link to your payment card for any exclusions that apply. CASHREWARDS reserves the right to deduct Cashback from your account if we determine that your purchase is for a product or category that is ineligible.

Yes, retailer offers do expire. Expiration dates are specific to each offer and may be found on the in-store page. You will not qualify for Cashback for any purchase made after the offer expiration date.

When an offer that is activated on one of your cards expires, it will be automatically deactivated.

If an offer has a minimum spend requirement, it will be clearly stated in the offer details. For example, "Get 8% Cashback on $100+ in-store purchase." The minimum spend requirement applies to a single in-store purchase and cannot be spread out over multiple transactions. If a minimum spend requirement is not stated in the offer, then you will receive in-store Cashback on any purchase amount.

CASHREWARDS will send you an email when we learn of your in-store transaction, typically within 24 hours of your purchase, however certain transactions can take up to 30 days to appear in your account. Cashback earned from in-store offers will be added to your Cashback Balance page along with all the other Cashback you've earned.

Yes, if the Cashback does not automatically report to your account, we will need to see the details of your receipt to investigate. Please be sure to retain a copy of your receipts.

Pending Cashback will not appear in your account if the linked card used for the transaction is removed from CASHREWARDS. If you wish to remove your credit card, you will need to wait until after the Cashback has appeared in your account.

Cashback rates generally do not change during the offer period. When using in-store Cashback, you will earn the amount of Cashback that is advertised on the date you activated the offer.
